Sharp Wilkinson is excited to announce the promotion of Christian Wirtz into our Project Manager role, a signal of intent for the continued growth of the agency.
Christian joined the team in the fall of 2019—at the time, Sharp Wilkinson was just over a year old. For Managing Partners Jack Wilkinson and Chris Sharp, Christian is the third full-time employee; in turn, Sharp Wilkinson is Christian’s first job out of college, having graduated from Wabash College that spring.
“As a young organization, Christian’s energy and passion for taking things to the next level was a great fit,” Jack says, “He helped to set the pace.”
“I’ll always remember one of the first pieces I wrote for SW was for a staffing and recruitment firm in Michigan,” Christian recalls, “In researching and writing it, it crystallized to me just how important it was for start-ups to get hiring right. I believe the line was one bad hire can sink a company. Chris and Jack had put a level of trust in me that my 23-year-old self hadn’t processed; to be honest, it was a level of trust I didn’t feel like I had earned. So, I guess you could say I took that realization personally: it strengthened my resolve to earn that trust. Six years later, and I’m still fighting for it.”
“Christian’s promotion to project manager marks an exciting milestone for both our team and our clients,” says Chris. “This move reflects SW’s commitment to developing talent from within and positions us to deliver even greater value as we continue to scale our operations.”
During his time in the Marketing Specialist (and later Senior Marketing Specialist) role, Christian had the opportunity to immerse himself in a wide variety of industries, including precision CNC machining, smart contracts and blockchain, real estate title insurance, payroll and accounting, and retirement plan administration. It was these opportunities that allowed Christian, as a lifelong student, to learn about some of the more nuanced verticals in SW’s portfolio.
In spring 2022, shortly after we began working for programs at the University of Notre Dame, Christian started bringing a single DSLR camera to campus events, marking the birth of what would become our multimedia department.
Just over five years into his tenure at Sharp Wilkinson, Christian had been involved in hundreds of projects and had seen how the processes are built and maintained. So, when Jack took a two-week vacation to Europe in early spring 2025, Christian filled in as caretaker project manager.
“Again, there was a nervousness. Again, Chris and Jack were putting a lot of trust in me,” Christian says, “But there was a moment where something in my mind clicked and said this is my element. This feels like the next natural thing for me.”
What came next was a seven-month intensive, training Christian to prepare to step into the role on a fulltime basis. With the beginning of 2026 now here, we are excited share that this transition is complete.
“This is a move that we’ve been working on for some time. I am very excited that it’s finally coming to pass,” says Jack, “It’s going to create a cascade of value and service that can be felt by our clients now and will continue to be felt everyday going forward.”
